Victor Morris has been a narrator/soloist with the Oregon Symphony and Third
Angle Music Ensemble and Euphonium/Tenor soloist for Tuba Christmas concerts
under the direction of Maestro John Richards. With guidance from the late
maestros Anton Guadagno, tenor Franco Corelli, and basso contante George
Peckham together with the influence of Ms. Grace Bumbry, Ms. Ellen Faull,
and present mentor, Maestro George Shirley, Victor's prepared roles include
Otello, Dick Johnson (La fanciulla del West), and Henry
Davis (Street Scene with Portland Opera).
On the stage, Victor played Reverend Hightower and Mrs. Taylor in Bat Boy, the musical for Portland Center Stage. Other favorite roles include Curio, flautist, and assistant music director in Twelfth Night for Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Aslan in the musical Narnia for Northwest Children's Theater, and most recently the narrator/bandleader/trumpet/singer in Kirsten Brandt's "A Christmas Carol 1941" for San Diego Rep. Film credits include Sleepless in Seattle, In The Line of Duty/Blaze of Glory, Punk Love, Say Uncle, Bigger Than The Sky, and the upcoming films The Auteur and Selfless. Victor is proficient in trumpet, euphonium/tuba, Lakota flute, and soprano saxophone, and he is a recipient of the Accomplished Musician's Award in the IBLA Grand Prize Vocal Competition in Ragusa-Ibla, Italy. |
